how far have we come?

If you love the ideas that tupac stood for all about being brothers, setting aside our differences, and trying to live life to the fullest. How do you think we are doing from his word sence he died?
Its funny how quickly we forget about pain or bad history. After the holocost the world shouts "NEVER AGAIN!!!" yet we have seen genicide all over the world in many different places sence then.
I think that peopl are kind of like gold fish we have a short memory, we forget the wrong doing of our past so quickly and do them again.
Tell me in your opinion do you think that tupac would be pleased by what he would see today? ya we finally have a black president but I think he was more about making it so that it was not a big deal to have one. (meaning that he would not just be seen as a black president rather then a good candidate)

Re: how far have we come?

I'm pretty sure he would keep on trying to get to the heart of things and make sure he told the truth. ...Or would he have sold out because that's the #1 hazard of getting old....? Or is that just too cynical? I would hope that he would at least keep trying to help by being a Truth Teller. It's amazing that what he says in different interviews waaaaay back in the day about the politics of the world is still very relevant today. That's what makes him a classic, I guess: the guts to see and say it like it is.

Re: how far have we come?

I don't think he would be happy at all, however I do believe that he would thrive on the fact that not a whole lot has changed. I also believe that if he were still around today that it would be easier for him to make an impact on people's minds. The reason I say he would have to be around to make an impact is because I think that a lot of people are blind to what really goes on. Our government definitely focus on the wrong issues a lot of the time and they do waste a lot of time and money on things that shouldn't really even pertain to us.

I agree with you all the way about our government. When the people of Rome were all starving to death instead of giving them food they gave them the galidator game. People that are enertained but something else seemed to forget about thier empty bellys.

Re: how far have we come?

In my opinion I am not sure if Tupac would be pleased with what is going on because nothing has changed in our society at all. Everything seems to be getting worst. I think that he might be excited that we finally have a black president, but I think he probably find something to disagree with the president. Personally I really don't think he would be happy with what is going on today, and he would ceratinly voice his opinion on it and hold no punches!! He was great speaker, and could definitely get his point acrossed!

tupac would not have liked what we have come to in this era. the rappers today are still having conflicts and violence issues today with other rappers.
